Here’s a poem I wrote in the summer of 2018

A Thunderous Eve

With drops of water, the air shimmers.
Drops of water that pervade the earth.
The clouds stir, so does the bulbous shadow.
The earth is enveloped in darkness . . .

An eerie silence fills the air,
‘cept for the splatter of  pouring rain.
Thither echoes the boom of thunder.
Darkness, you have come in vain.

The burdened cloud is torn asunder,
blazing daggers escape the tear.
A tumult of light in the dawning night,
thunder booms again.

With fuel and fury both deprived,
clouds fade away.
The night has morphed into a beautiful morn,
Darkness indeed came in vain.
